This
strawberry simple syrup
recipe is incredibly fresh and is so simple to make! It's also a great way to use up any extra fresh strawberries.

Ingredients
10-12
oz
strawberries
sliced with stems left on (about 2 cups, measured)
1½

water

cup
granulated sugar
Instructions
Add sliced strawberries, water, vanilla and sugar to a saucepan.
Bring to a boil and simmer over medium-low heat for 20 minutes.
Strain into a jar using a mesh strainer or cheesecloth making sure to squeeze out out any excess juice.
Once cool, refrigerate. Store sealed in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Yield:
2.5 cups
Notes:
You can leave out the vanilla extract if you wish.
Leaving the tops on the strawberries give the syrup more flavor.
Add to drinks or desserts.
