Ingredients
● 2 tablespoon olive oil
● 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
● 1 can (28 oz) whole San Marzano tomatoes (or best quality tomatoes you can find)
● ½ teaspoon kosher salt
● ¼ teaspoon black pepper
● ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
● 6-8 fresh basil leaves
Instructions
Heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add garlic and cook 30-60 seconds until fragrant (don't brown).
Crush tomatoes by hand and add with all juices.
Add salt, pepper, and pepper flakes.
Simmer 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Tear basil into the sauce during the last minute.
Taste and adjust salt.
