Elevate your soups and salads with homemade sourdough croutons! Homemade croutons add a rustic crunch and tangy flavor to so many dishes. This recipe is super quick and always a hit when entertaining at home!
Cube sourdough loaf into 1" cubes using a long serrated bread knife.
Toss cubes onto a parchment lined baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder and toss well using your hands to ensure every cube is coated well.
Spread cubes out so they are not touching eachother. Use two baking sheets if needed.
Bake for 10-15 minutes or until they are golden brown.
Let cool completely and serve!
Notes
*Freshly cracked black pepper adds so much flavor to your croutons vs. regular pepper. It also adds a visual appeal.*Salt to taste. If you're salad dressing is already salted like in my Kale Caesar Salad, you might not want to go crazy with the salt. If not, add more than ½ a tsp.*Store your breadcrumbs in a sealed bag or container when completely cooled to maintain their crunch factor.
