What Is Crockpot Crack Candy?
Crockpot candy crack is a simple yet delicious treat that contains nuts, chocolate, peanut butter, and more (depending what you want to put in!) It's my favorite thing to make around the holidays since it's SUPER easy and delicious,
Its addicting flavor will keep your loved ones coming back for "just one more piece'.
You can ask the kids to help make them and decorate them with whatever sprinkles match the occasion!
🛒Ingredients Needed
Be sure to have the following ingredients to prepare this incredible crockpot candy crack:
- Whole Unsalted Nuts - Choose from any nuts that you prefer, such as peanuts, walnuts, pecans, or even almonds. A combination would work well too.
- Dark Chocolate Chips - You can use dark chocolate to keep it less sweet, semi-sweet or milk chocolate. Whatever you like best!
- Peanut Butter Chips - Enhance the taste of your candy with some peanut butter chips. You can find these in the baking aisle alongside the chocolate chips.
- Creamy Peanut Butter - Bring more peanut butter flavor to this candy by tossing some creamy peanut butter into the mixture. You can use Jif, Skippy, or your favorite brand of peanut butter for this recipe.
- Christmas Sprinkles - Choose from any Christmas-themed sprinkles, such as snowflakes, Christmas trees, or anything red and green!
You can also add crushed peppermint and sea salt flakes to the slow cooker with the rest of the ingredients, but they’re optional.

Step 1: Place your ingredients into the slow cooker one at a time and set it to low heat.

Step 2: Place the lid on top, heat for 90 minutes, and be sure to stir every 30 minutes to keep the ingredients from clumping up together.
Step 3: Mix well and then use a large spoon to place dollops (small mounds) of the chocolate mixture onto parchment paper or any nonstick mat set over a baking sheet.
Step 4: Let it sit in the fridge, or at room temperature, to cool and harden before serving.
Crockpot Candy Crack Substitutions
- Change up the chocolate! If you don’t like dark chocolate, feel free to use milk chocolate or white chocolate (if you consider that chocolate), depending on what you enjoy.
- Use sprinkles if you want! If you don’t have holiday sprinkles, you can use any sprinkles that you do have, to add a special touch to the candy.

- Add different toppings. You can add crushed peanuts or even a drizzle of white chocolate or caramel on top of your candy clusters.
- Use different peanut butter. You can use chunky peanut butter instead of creamy for an added crunch!

How to freeze: Freezing Christmas Crack is easy and it freezes well! You just place it in an airtight container and place it in the freezer for up to 3 months.
How to store: When it comes to storing your christmas crack candy, it's best to place it in an airtight container and store on the counter at room temperature. If it's warm outside, the clusters may melt and stick to one another.
FAQ's
It will take about 5 minutes of prep time and 90 minutes of cook time to make these candy clusters. Once you scoop them out, place them in the fridge to harden. It will take a total of about 2 hours from start to finish to make these candies.
Any size slow cooker will work for this recipe. I used a 6 qt but you can use a smaller one. The only size that won’t work is the mini crock pot made for warming dips.
Almond bark is not something everyone always has in their pantry so I tried to make it easier and simpler. I also wanted to keep it rich and extra chocolately!
The flavors will stay the same but the texture will be affected as it will turn out a bit softer.

Crock Pot Crack Candy
Equipment
- Slow Cooker
Ingredients
- 16 oz. whole unsalted nuts (peanuts, pecans, almonds)
- 24 oz. dark chocolate chips
- 10 oz. peanut butter chips
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- Christmas sprinkles, crushed peppermint, or flaked sea salt (*for topping)
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a crock pot set over low heat.
- Heat for 90 minutes with lid on, stirring after every 30 minutes or so.
- After 90 minutes, give the mixture a few more good stirs and transfer large spoonfuls to a parchment lined baking sheet in small mounds.*If the mixture pools on parchment paper rather than piling, allow the mixture to cool a bit before scooping so it can pile higher.
- Candy clusters will take about 1 hour to fully harden at room temperature. You can add them to the fridge to speed this up. Store in an airtight container.
