4. Decoupage Party
If you've never decoupaged before, you're missing out!
It's VERY easy, so fun and inexpensive!!
Decoupage is a decorative art technique where you decorate an object by sticking paper cutouts like napkins, tissue paper or other flat paper onto it the object before sealing it with glue.
Decoupaging will allow your guests to transform many items such as a cutting board, tea cups, jewelry boxes, picture frames or ceramics into personalized and visually appealing pieces.
How to decoupage:
- Preparation: Choose the object you want to decorate and prepare its surface by cleaning it and ensuring it's smooth and free of any imperfections.
- Selection of Materials: Select fun colorful paper cutouts with printed designs, photos, or colorful paper, that you want to use in your decoupage design.
- Adhesion: Apply some Mod Podge to the back of the paper cutouts and carefully place them onto the surface of the object. You can arrange them in any pattern or design you like, overlapping them if desired.
- Layering: After placing the paper cutouts, apply additional layers of Mod Podge over the top of them to seal them onto the surface. This also helps to create a smooth finish.
- Finishing: Once the adhesive has dried, apply several coats of varnish or sealant over the entire surface of the object to protect the design and create a glossy finish. Allow each layer to dry completely before applying the next.
