Equipment Needed
If you do not have blood bags or a syringe to FILL them, these are great from Amazon!
How To Fill Blood Bags With A Cocktail
I must say, filling the blood bags is the most tedious part of the cocktail. I HIGHLY recommend using a syringe to squeeze in the drink otherwise it will take a lot longer using the mini funnel they provide you.
Fill the bags up all the way up then use the white clips that come with the blood bags to close the straw. You place it open-side-down then snap it closed. You'll know the bag is sealed when you turn it upside down and nothing seeps out.
How To Serve Bloog Bag Cocktails
You can serve these upside down like an ACTUAL blood bag or simply lay them on top of eachother in a shallow bowl. I prefer serving them in a bowl so they stay COLD.
It's hard to keep them cold otherwise unless your Halloween party is outside and you don't live in a hot climate.
Otherwise, lay them on ice.

Can I customize the flavor and color of the "blood" in these cocktails?
Yes of course! To make a deep red cocktail, do the following:
- Use dark red juices like cherry, pomegrante or cranberry juices
- Use food coloring. A combination of red, blue and a touch of green OR red and black food coloring.
Any alcohol will work. Vodka, rum, tequila, gin, bourbon, they all can be used depending on the cocktail of choice.
I have TWO delicious more complex dark red cocktails you can add in your blood bags that are always a hit. These recipes are for a crowd who will appreciate a quality strong cocktail.
Spooky Black Cocktail For Halloween (minus the black food coloring)
Are there any unique serving tips or presentation ideas for blood bag cocktails?
You can DIY your own blood bag board by taking a wooden board and some nails and hanging them that way. Spookify your board if needed!
Another option is to string some wire, lights or string across a wall and use clips to hang them upside down. Use command strips to hold them up without damaging the wall.
Is Drinking From Blood Bags Safe?
Yes. Make sure to get high quality food-grade material!
Can I make these kid-friendly?
Yes! Just OMIT the vodka! If doing so, I would simply use a cranberry/cherry juice blend and that's it to keep it simple.
