Jello Shot Syringes

I serve these Jello Shot Syringes at my Halloween party every year and they're ALWAYS a hit! It's a little bit creepy but SO much fun to shoot the Jello syringe into your mouth! This recipe can be tweaked to your liking. 

Whether you're trick-or-treating and looking for something other than candy to please the adults or throwing the biggest Halloween bash of the year, these Jello Syringes and my Blood Bag Cocktails need to be on your cocktail menu!

I love serving them with my bloody intestines appetizer!

Where To Find Syringes

I got these TWIDDLERS 2-ounce Jello shot syringes from Amazon! They come with caps to help prevent leaks.

One batch makes approximately 8 full 2-ounce syringes, or about 16 smaller 1-ounce portions if you fill them halfway. Keep a few spare syringes or small shot cups handy for any leftover mixture.

Planning for a crowd? Double the ingredients for about 16 full syringes, or triple them for about 24.

How To Fill Your Jello Syringes

It's pretty easy, but tedious, to fill your plastic syringes.

For one 3-ounce package of Jello, dissolve it in 1 cup of boiling water, then stir in ¾ cup of liquor and ¼ cup of cold water. I used vodka. Follow the recipe card below when scaling up.

Draw the mixture into the syringes while it's still liquid, filling to about 2 ounces (60 mL) for full shots, or halfway for smaller portions. Replace the caps to prevent leaks, then refrigerate on a tray for at least 3 hours, or until fully set. Overnight works well too! Remove the caps before serving.

Same thing when it comes to syringes. You can use any flavor Jello and any alcohol of choice.

Ingredients

• 1 3 oz Package of Jello (flavor of choice) I chose cherry
• 1 cup boiling water
• ¾ cup rum, vodka or other liquor of choice
• ¼ cup cold water

Equipment

• Plastic Syringes 2-ounce capacity; one per shot, plus a few spare

Method

 

1. Add boiling water to a large bowl along with the Jello packet and mix until dissolved.
2. Add liquor and cold water and mix.
3. While the mixture is still liquid, draw it into the syringes, filling each to about 2 ounces (60 mL), then replace the caps to prevent leaks. The original batch makes approximately 8 full syringes; use more syringes when scaling up. If you have a little mixture left over, pour it into a small shot cup.
4. Refrigerate the capped syringes on a tray for at least 3 hours, or until fully set. Overnight works well too! Remove the caps before serving and enjoy chilled.

Notes

Approximate yield: The original batch starts with 2 cups (16 US fl oz) of liquid and makes about 8 full 2-ounce syringes, or about 16 smaller 1-ounce portions in half-filled syringes. Dissolved gelatin adds some volume, so you may have a little left over. Actual yield depends on fill level and filling losses. Double or triple the ingredients for about 16 or 24 full syringes.

Nutrition: Estimates are based on dividing the original batch into 8 full shots. Half-filled, 1-ounce portions have approximately half the listed nutrition. Values vary with the gelatin and liquor used.
