This peach white wine spritzer is the epitome of summer! The combination of soda water, lemon juice, peach juice and crisp white wine is so delicious and refreshing. I suggest making a big batch and adding the bubbly LAST to make sure it does not go flat before serving. (See more tips below!)
This peach white wine spritzer is one of my favorite summer batched cocktails, along with my Limoncello Spritz and my Large Batch Margaritas.
Not only because I'm slightly obsessed with bubbly drinks (hellooo Prosecco), but because it's so light, refreshing and a bit too easy to sip on during a scorching hot summer day...which is almost every day here in Florida!!
This spritzer would be best served at an adult tea party, girl's night, summer pool party, or even Sunday brunch along with my Smoked Salmon Carpaccio or Watermelon Feta Salad. (So good!)
Peach Spritzer Ingredient Tips!
*full ingredients list and measurements can be found in the recipe card below*
- White wine: You can really use any white wine you have on hand! It's common to make a spritzer with pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc, chardonnay or Riesling also work.
- Sparkling water: To really boost the peach flavor, I prefer to use a peach flavored sparkling water. If you can't find it, plain club soda also works.
- Peach juice: I LOVE making white wine spritzers a little fruity, which is why I add a touch of peach juice. It's still nice and light, but also sweet and well, peachy! You can also use peach schnapps liqueur to make the flavor of this peach cocktail more pronounced.
- Lemon juice: Fresh is best if you have it. Bottled will work, but doesn't have the same "zing" that fresh lemon juice has
What White Wines Is Best For Spritzers?
When it comes to choosing the best white wine for spritzers, you'll want a wine that is refreshing, light, and has a good balance of acidity and fruitiness. Here are a few white wine options that work well in spritzers:
-
Sauvignon Blanc: This crisp and aromatic wine is popular for good reason. Some offer flavors of citrus, green apple, and tropical fruits so naturally it's great in fruity drinks. It adds a zesty and vibrance to spritzers.
-
Pinot Grigio: Pinot is light-bodied and refreshing. It offers notes of citrus, pear, and melon so like, the wine above, it pairs well with a variety of mixers and adds a crisp and clean addition to any spritzer.
-
Riesling: Known for its versatility, Riesling wines range from dry to sweet. For spritzers, it's best to opt for a dry or off-dry Riesling, which offers a balance of acidity and fruitiness with flavors of apple, peach, and floral notes.
-
Vermentino: This Mediterranean white wine is becoming increasingly popular for spritzers. It has bright acidity and flavors of citrus, stone fruits (great for PEACH spritzers) and herbs (like mint!) 🙂
-
Vinho Verde: This wine is from Portugal and is light and slightly effervescent with a crisp taste. It typically has flavors of green apple, lime, and a hint of floral notes, making it yet another great choice for spritzers.
- Moscato: Famous for its sweet flavors of peaches and orange blossom, it is great for spritzers or fruity cocktails. It is a sweeter wine so if you are looking for a subtle sweetness, I suggest opting for a savignon blanc instead.
Remember, personal taste preferences can vary, so feel free to experiment with different white wines to find the one that suits your palate and desired spritzer flavor profile.
*I prefer wines that are on the drier side since the peach juice adds more sweetness.
