Lavender represents grace, elegance, refinement, and luxury. Add some to a drink and you've got the perfect cocktail for any classy occasion or cocktail party in the spring or summer.
To make this lavender cocktail, the staple ingredients are a lavender infused simple syrup and some purple food coloring.
The floral, citrusy notes are refreshing and the color is eye-catching!
📖 Cocktail Ingredients
- Lavender Simple Syrup: Making your own lavender simple syrup is simple and can be done in less than 20 minutes.
- Gin: I prefer a london dry gin like Bombay.
- Lemon Juice: Freshly squeezed is the only kind I recommend.
- Champagne: I recommend a prosecco.
🍸 How To Make A Lavender Cocktail
- Add all ingredients but your champage to a cocktail mixer with lots of ice and shake well for 10-20 seconds.
- Add to a cocktail glass and top with the champagne.
- Garnish with a lemon slice and/or a lavender sprig.
🌿 Homemade Lavender Syrup
Making your own homemade lavender infused simple syrup, all you need is some dried (or fresh) lavender buds, some sugar and water.
Simmer for 15 minutes over low heat, strain and cool!
You can add lavender syrup to cocktails, mocktails, cupcakes, cookies or really anywhere you want to infuse a floral note to a recipe.
Storebought Options
If you don't have time or access to fresh or dried lavender flowers, you can purchase pre-made lavender syrup. Monin pre-made lavender syrup is a popular brand you can find on Amazon. It is inexpensive and will last you a long time.

🍾 Use Any Spirit You Like!
I love how well lavender and gin go together however if you are NOT a gin fan, you can use vodka or silver tequila! Either would work well.
Aother options is to leave the hard liquor out and just serve with champagne for a lighter option. This is better for brunch or midday parties.

💜 That Purple Hue
The most attractive part of this drink is the COLOR!

I love pretty drinks, like this pink-hued Paper Plane cocktail.
But when it comes to purple, it's not natural. The lavender hue does NOT come from the lavender flowers. Instead, the color that seeps from the flowers is a yellowy color which is not as attractive.
Chambord black liqueur also has a deep purple hue you can add to your cocktails or Creme De Violet is another option!
So the best way to get that beautiful color is to use purple food coloring. If you don't have purple, you can use a combination of red & blue because that makes purple, remember? ☺️

How much lavender syrup is added to the martini shaker? The recipe doesn’t say.

I apologize. I just added it in. I like 1/2 ounce but you can experiment with more if you prefer.
